Subject: AEC: Discussion Phase 2

Hi all,

Thank you for your hard work. It is great to see some great discussion among you.

This email is a reminder that on Monday, cyberchair switch modes to make all non-conflicted reviews visible to you and we'll move to the second part of the discussion phase. Please take note of the following (all times ~Samoa):

1. By Monday evening: please conclude any discussion you are leading. Please ensure that there is a clearly identified summary of your discussion that will allow other reviewers to quickly come up to speed with your position. Ideally you'll have come to consensus, but if you have not, then your summary should clearly identify the areas of agreement and characterize the different conflicting positions as clearly as possible.

2. On Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday: please read the summary statement of _every_ submission that you're not conflicted with. If you notice problems or have insights that may help in resolving the state of the paper, please chime in on the discussion for that submission. Importantly, this stage is designed to provide a global perspective, and therefore some coherence in our treatment of the different submissions. So if you feel that there is inconsistency in the way submissions are being rated, _please_ say so, being as specific as possible while remembering that some of your colleagues may be conflicted with papers you reviewed.

3. On Thursday evening: Matthias and I will go through all submissions and determine a tentative grade (E: exceeded expectations, M: met expectations, N: did not meet expectations). We'll then ask for agreement on those assignments and will deal with any remaining disagreements with a vote if necessary.

As always, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email us.

Thanks again,

Steve & Matthias
